Layout

The Agar Mini is built upon a custom 40% layout with a total width of 13 units (13U).

In contrast to more common 12U compact designs, this 13U width offers superior visual and proportional balance.
It elegantly avoids the cramped profile that can result from a 0.5U reduction on the modifiers,
lending the entire chassis a more harmonious and fluid appearance.

In its layout philosophy, the Agar Mini pays homage to the classic HHKB style while utilizing a standard staggered key arrangement.

This thoughtful combination ensures a familiar typing experience, minimizing the learning curve and
making it immediately accessible to a wide range of users.

The Agar Mini marks KBDfans' debut into dual-mode wireless kits powered by ZMK firmware. Setting it apart from conventional solutions on the market, ZMK delivers an exceptionally stable Bluetooth experience, distinguished by its modular architecture and ultra-low power consumption.

Thanks to our meticulous tuning and optimization, the Agar Mini achieves a remarkable battery life of up to 3 months, even with just a 300mAh battery. We didn't stop there; we've further enhanced the native ZMK functionality with several key improvements:

Full Indicator Light Support: We've custom-implemented indicator functionality, a feature not natively available in ZMK.
Optimized Connectivity: Bluetooth connection speed and stability have been significantly improved.
Future-Ready: Seamless integration with the AVA configurator is planned, ensuring an even smoother user experience down the road.
